Loving your Post-Partum Body by using Acupuncture

Why Acupuncture is Becoming More Popular for Postpartum Depression

Acupuncture can be a great additive to your routine as you are trying to conceive, while you are pregnant, or at the end of your pregnancy to help make for an easy labor process. Deanna Carell Acupuncture focuses primarily on women’s health, especially by curating treatment plans for women during their Post-Partum recovery stage.

Post-Partum may not seem exceptionally glorious to most. You are recovering from birth, dealing with elevated hormone levels, and experiencing a lack of sleep you may have never experienced before. However, this time is glorious and, most importantly, such a special time in your life. A woman’s body is so incredibly powerful as it grows a baby, endures birth, and then uses inner strength to tackle motherhood. You are experiencing the first months of your baby’s life and experiencing a new stage of yours. During this special time, we want our clients to feel their powerfulness fully and by doing that, we can heal your Post-Partum body together.

What can acupuncture accomplish for your Post-Partum recovery period?

Acupuncture is a completely natural alternative medicine that enables patients to embrace healing at their own pace. At Deanna Carell Acupuncture, we evaluate our clients’ unique Post-Partum journeys and then curate the perfect treatment plan to accomplish what it is that our patients need to feel their best. Whether you are searching for an all-natural, medication-free way to heal your aches and pains or you need to decompress from the stress of motherhood, acupuncture is right for you.

During your treatments, our goal is to introduce a relaxing environment where you can become symptom-free and, most importantly, are able to rest. As we explore different treatment options that are suited best for you, you will begin to feel the heavy weight of Post-Partum recovery issues lifting off your shoulders.

Some of the symptoms that you may be experiencing due to Post-Partum include, aches and pains, decreased milk supply, difficulty getting baby to latch, increased stress hormones, onset of anxiety and depression, fatigue, and irregular menstrual cycles. Acupuncture treatments such as, needling, microneedling, electroacupuncture therapy, and moxibustion allow the body to self-heal, releasing natural pain-relievers and mood boosters called Endorphins. These therapies also trigger our bodily systems to work properly which can encourage milk production and re-establish healthy menstrual cycles.

Deanna Carell Acupuncture is a reliable source of information if you are having difficulty in areas of Post-Partum that we may not specialize in, such as latching, pumping, et. Your acupuncturist will refer you to the best specialists who will help in any way that you may need. Working together with other physicians and specialists is important to us because it provides a thorough and healthier experience for our patients, getting them on the road to recovery as quick as possible.

How long should you wait to make an acupuncture appointment after birth?

Our rule is to always consult with your physician or OBGYN before you make an appointment with our office. Your doctor will know best how long you need to rest, especially if you have had surgery. Typically, our office sees new mothers 2-4 weeks into their Post-Partum journeys. We will welcome you anytime that you feel most comfortable to visit and have your doctor’s permission to move forward with treatments for healing.

You do not have to go on this journey alone. Acupuncture will be with you every step of the way into Post-Partum recovery and even beyond.
