A woman’s body consists of a road map of systems, each intertwining as they work together with a goal of fertilization or shedding through the menstrual cycle.
For centuries, women have suffered with intense symptoms during this time, some of which cause high anxiety, mood swings, bloating, or other uncomfortable bodily effects. Suffering, however, is no longer required as women are taking control of their health and seeking natural help for their monthly hormonal imbalances, whether they are attempting to conceive or simply trying to feel not-so-miserable.
How the process works
Monthly, the Hypothalamus releases a hormone which stimulates the Pituitary Gland. The Pituitary Gland produces the Follicular Stimulating Hormone, an important factor in the production of Estrogen within the Ovaries.
The Follicular Stimulating Hormone ignites the ovaries, producing amounts of Estrogen that are unique to each individual female. Estrogen levels can be too high, or they can be too low, all depending on the individuals underlying condition.
Why is Estrogen so important?
The production of Estrogen at healthy levels is vitally important for conception and, believe it or not, other bodily systems such as the Brain. Estrogen helps,
- Increase brain activity
- Enhance the immune system
- Store fat tissue
- Balance Testosterone levels
- Increase or decrease mood levels
How does acupuncture help?
Making sure you’re healthy is the first step in trying to conceive or reducing monthly menopausal symptoms. Acupuncture is an all-natural therapy which can provide long-lasting relief and desired results for future conception goals.
By using specific needling techniques, acupuncture directs blood flow to vital organs, such as the Ovaries, and stimulates the balancing of hormone levels. Blood flow is important in maintaining healthy organs, oxygen levels and plump eggs if wishing to conceive.
Along with stimulating blood flow, acupuncture also provides a reduction in stress levels. When stressed, our bodies produce less Estrogen and Progesterone and more of the stress hormone- Cortisol. Cortisol can greatly affect Estrogen levels and ultimately make it harder to conceive while providing an emotionally taxing environment. Not to mention, stress can make monthly menopausal symptoms worse! By adding Cortisol, anxiety, mood swings, cramps and other uncomfortable symptoms can increase, making period symptoms even more miserable than normal.
